Rewriting the Build

AI in software development is amplification, not revolution. Paper 1 in the Ground Truth series walks the full lifecycle, from product and design through QA and operations.

Can AI write code?

Well, yes -- this question has been answered by many practitioners already.

However, I do think the honest frame for AI in software development isn't that it changing software development drastically -- it is not about revolution or hype.

It is about amplification.

AI makes good teams better faster. It makes bad teams worse faster. And it makes the difference between those two kinds of teams much more visible to the rest of the organization.

Which means the question for software leaders isn't whether to adopt AI — that decision is already being made by your practitioners' daily behavior, regardless of official policy. The question is whether your practices, your people, and your product strategy are ready to be amplified.

We wrote this paper from inside that question. It walks the full software development lifecycle — Product, Design, Agile, Engineering, QA, Operations — and describes what's actually changing in each, where the leverage is, where the risk is, and what stays human.

First in our Ground Truth series. Would value your reactions.
